“100 million people will be watching.” Well, that’s one way to inspire a lethargic Saturday Night Live cast, eh?
Here is the first promo for this weekend’s SNL episode hosted by The Bear Emmy winner Ayo Edebiri. It opens with Mikey Day, Molly Kearney and Ego Nwodim griping about how tired they are after doing two consecutive shows and dreading a third. “Maybe we call Lorne [Michaels] and tell him we all got hit by a car?” Nwodim posits. But he’d probably just replace them instead.

Enter Edebiri: “What’s this I’m hearing? This show could be the greatest show of our lives!”
When Day questions that stat about 100 million viewers, Edebiri replies that she “just heard we’re following the Super Bowl.” “Isn’t that on a Sunday?” Nwodim asks. Undeterred, the soon-to-be host delivers a few more alternative facts in her effort to fire up the Studio 8H regulars.
And so it goes for Edebiri’s maiden voyage as host of NBC’s late-night stalwart. But then Edebiri utters the magical words, “J.Lo is going to be the musical guest.”
